A Truly Unique Gift.....
Over the years, along with countless club gigs, I have been asked to
perform at many functions from weddings to funerals. Some of these
events were made more special by friends who would request the
composition of a song just for the occasion.
Whether it is a first dance at a wedding, the father/daughter dance or a
special song written to remember a loved one lost I have always
enjoyed making these special contributions.
I would now like to offer that service to everyone.
All I need to start such a project is some input from you for lyrical
content and style of music and I can do the rest. Cost is dependent on
what you are looking for and is based upon a rate of $50 per hour for
each hour worked. Projects have taken anywhere from 4 to 20 hours.
Most average 8-10 hours. I sing most of my music but do have access
to lots of local talent if for instance you prefer a female voice.
Please know that your song will be totally original and not a rehash of
someone else's. That is a promise!
If you would like to discuss the possibility of having a song please
contact me at donald@donerdbrink.com.
Here are some examples of songs written "On Demand". Scroll down
for a couple of sample lyrics.
Inside My Heart -- This was written as a "first dance" for my wife,
Lynda. We danced to it at our wedding in 1992.
Quiet Grace -- This song written during the illness of a friend and
subsequently played at her memorial service. Needless to say this
song holds very special meaning to me and I believe Karen's family.
A Little Bit of Understanding -- Written for local singer (and friend)
Laura Messner this song was a request from Laura for a specific
lyrical content.
Remembrances -- This instrumental guitar piece was composed in
memory of three people, all of whom passed within a couple of
months of one another.
New Home -- I wrote this piano piece as a celebration of our new
home. We still live there today.
Because She Asked -- While recording the CD Winnipesaukee in 1990
the Cd's financial backer, and my dear friend Caroline, light heartedly
complained I had written no pieces for her. This piano piece was
written in about a day, because she asked.
Quiet Grace

I’m thinking I’m feeling I’m lost in why I’m calling to you this night
I’m walking in darkness trying to see the light
I’m placing my life in your hands
I feel your touch I feel your hand
Strength of my heart when I cannot stand
When the turns of life turn to darker shades
I turn to you and the darkness fades
To this quiet room There’s peace
And I’m holding on to quiet grace with You
Love holds me Love calls me To come inside I want to be by your side
I’m thinking And trying To understand
The blessedness of His plan
I feel your touch I feel your hand
Strength of my heart when I cannot stand
When the turns of life turn to darker shades
I turn to you and the darkness fades
To this quiet room There’s peace
And I’m holding on to quiet grace with You
A LITTLE BIT OF UNDERSTANDING

In the morning I can fly so high
Then the night can bring me down
I’ll kiss your cheek on moment while splashing in the pool
Right before I lose my cool
I’m a puzzle that’s just full of mystery
But you see past the pieces to what’s inside of me
Take me as I am and who I want to be But that means taking every little part of me
This person that you see is who I’m gonna be
Take me Flaws and all and then the love you’ll see.............From me
I’m so focused on the things I have to do
I never seem to think of you
I don’t know why you love me your like a crazy child
My imperfections make you smile
I’m a puzzle that’s just full of mystery
But you see past the pieces to what’s inside of me
Take me as I am and who I want to be But that means taking every little part of me
This person that you see is who I’m gonna be
Take me flaws and all and then the love you'll see...............From me
A little bit of understanding will go very far
A little bit of understanding will take us very far
All About You ©

I wonder About you I wonder What you’re thinking ‘bout
So much To tell you but will you Understand my heart
That is broke in two It’s All About You
I don’t quite understand How to get thru To you
My words (seem to) get lost In all the pictures in your mind
What do You see When you look out your window pane
That is broke in two It’s All About You
I don’t quite understand How to get thru To you
If I had just one day To walk in your shoes
Then maybe I would understand What the world feels like to you
Will you Come now And walk with me to find a way
To your Sweet heart So I can show you my world too
That is broke in two It’s All About You
I want to understand How to get thru To you
Then I Will tell you I love you And I always will
